What if your favorite monster escaped from the mosaic to invade your living room?
With ZeTapis, we imagined a unique decorative object: a handmade wall rug made in Marseille , in quality wool, representing our cult “Monster” inspired by retro video games.
Tilipix x Ze Tapis
A 100% Marseille collaboration 🙏
This project is a meeting between two colorful, artisanal, and Marseilles-based worlds:
🎨 Tilipix and its DIY pixel art mosaic kits
🧵 ZeTapis and its colorful, hand-tufted creations, all textured and soft
Tufting is a hand-weaving technique that uses a thread gun to inject wool onto a stretched canvas .
This allows for the creation of embossed, textured and ultra-graphic rugs.
Each piece is unique and requires several hours of meticulous work .
At ZeTapis, each creation is made with passion by Anissa , in her Marseille workshop.
This project is above all about the desire to highlight local know-how , to promote artisanal creation and to support short supply chains .
And even if we're not (too) chauvinistic 😄, we really wanted to introduce you to ZeTapis , this Marseille brand that we love, driven by the talent of Anissa.
The drawing is taking shape 🧱
The Monster visual is drawn on canvas, pixel by pixel. Each square is precisely positioned to serve as a guide.
This is the starting point, between digital creation and craftsmanship.
Hand tufting 🧶
Anissa inserts the wool by hand using her tufting gun. Colour by colour, the rug takes shape in volume.
A precise, slow and meticulous job.
Finishing and cutting ✂️
Once the design is complete, it's time for cutting. Shaving, outlining, applying the felt: every detail is meticulously finished by hand to create a clean, sturdy wall hanging ready to hang.
Ta-da! 🎉
The rug is ready! It leaves the Marseille workshop to be proudly displayed in the street, a stone's throw from where it was created.
A nod to street art, and a pop touch that attracts everyone's attention.

Each rug measures approximately 35 x 35 cm . As each piece is handmade, slight variations are possible .

Yes, each rug is entirely handmade by Anissa in her Marseille workshop. This makes each piece unique.

Tufted rugs fit perfectly in a bedroom, living room, or even an entryway . Thanks to their graphic design and soft texture, they become a striking element in your decor .
You can simply place it on the floor , or if you want to make it a wall piece , use Velcro fasteners, hooks or self-adhesive strips depending on your wall.

Regular vacuuming (once a week) is enough to remove dust and dirt residue .
Avoid using vacuum cleaners with rotating brushes as much as possible. Over time, wool bristles can be damaged more easily.
Avoid excessively humid areas and especially machine washing . The fibers are strong, but handcrafted.

Don't panic, opt for effective and gentle old-fashioned techniques :
➡️ Gently rub the stain with a cloth soaked in white vinegar , then leave for 15 minutes.
➡️ Next, brush the area with a mixture of warm water and dishwashing liquid whipped into a foam .
➡️ Rinse with clean water, blot with a clean cloth and let air dry.
For grease stains: sprinkle with Sommières clay , leave for several hours, then vacuum.

It is not recommended to leave the rug in direct sunlight for extended periods ☀️
Over time, continued exposure to UV light can alter colors and lead to slight discoloration.
👉 Opt for an indoor installation, away from direct sunlight, to preserve the vibrancy of the colors.
